HAPPY MONDAY FRIENDS. It’s November and that means I’ve taken down our Halloween decorations and I am pretty much ready to decorate for Christmas. Whoops. #sorrynotsorry. Today’s post is on my favorite go-to date night look lately. It’s deep, sexy and way easier than you think it is. I love doing vampy looks during the fall — heavier eye looks go with heavier clothing, in my humble opinion. Smokey eyes don’t have to just be gray and black. Fall is the PERFECT time to play with colors. Here is my plum smokey eye for fall. Ok. Let’s do this.

Plum Smokey Eye For Fall

This look is PERFECT if you have green or hazel eyes. Purple is one of the most flattering colors for green eyes — they also look fantastic on brown eyes! The gold flecks in brown eyes are brought out with deep plum shades.

I like to match this eye look with a perfect plum lipstick. The only thing to be careful of when choosing your lipstick is to pick a shade that has BLACK undertones instead of RED undertones. It’s actually way harder to find than I thought it would be. Most deep plum shades are more on the maroon side of the spectrum than the black side of the spectrum, so play around until you find something that works with your shadow shades!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial — and learned something new and cool today! This is SUCH a classic look and I know you’ll get a ton of use out of it this fall. Try mixing up colors with a deep navy, maroon or hunter green. They all look INCREDIBLE with this technique!

  1. Gorgeous!!! I’m always so nervous about how to use the super pigmented, bold colors in palettes but you’ve inspired me. Definitely going to play around with some purple now.

  2. Your eye makeup is gorgeous. I am SO not talented at makeup, especially smoky eyes, because I think I can be described as “heavy-lidded” and then it just looks like I have a black eye! This plum color is beautiful though, so I might have to give it a try…
