Happy Fri-YAY. It’s that time of the month again. Cutting this month’s list down to my top 10 favorites has been SO HARD – you guys know that it’s my favorite month so I always have a MILLION new things I’ve been trying out and loving. Enjoy this October’s favorites!

OCTOBER 2019 MONTHLY OBSESSIONS

Blush Gucci waist bag

I have always wanted my very own luxury handbag – but they come with a pretty price tag and I haven’t quite been able to justify anything over a Coach or Kate Spade bag. However, when I was in New York this past weekend with my family, my aunt gifted me this beautiful waist bag (the exact one I was eyeballing). I am completely in love. I wanted a waist bag because I bring a diaper bag everywhere I go now, but there isn’t really a lot of room to keep my own things in it and I don’t want to carry two big bags. Hence: the waist bag. It’s just big enough to keep my phone, lip gloss, wallet and keys!

Rimmel London gel eyeliner

I am OBSESSED with this eyeliner. It dries totally matte, it lasts all day and it so easy to apply. I’m completely sold. PLUS it’s drugstore and super affordable. I haven’t tried out a TON of Rimmel London products, but now I am thinking I need to!

Source Vital Apothecary at-home facial

This brand is one that I’ve loved and used for about 3 years now on and off. I’m always trying new face products, of course, but this is one I consistently come back to. I met the team at BeautyCon two and a half years ago and we’ve built an awesome relationship!!

As far as this at-home facial – here are the steps I’ve been doing to prep my skin for winter:

  1. Cleanse the skin with micellar cleansing water. This one is made with algae extract and Lavandin essential oil which makes it perfect for all skin types AND for removing eye makeup.
  2. Follow up with this Lemon Gel Cleanser (perfect for those of your with oily, acne-prone skin). It has ingredients that purify and soften the skin, reduce the look of clogged pores and prevent inflammation.
  3. Next, exfoliation! I like to use the Algae Deep Scrub for this. It helps decongest my pores and promotes healthy blood flow to the skin. I use it twice a week.
  4. For a quick spot treatment on blemishes, I use the aroma peel. It’s like a super gentle chemical peel and it makes your skin feel baby soft.
  5. Post-exfoliation, I tone. I use the Aromatic Emulsion Balance spray for this. It’s hydrating and super lightweight.
  6. The facial mask comes next – and since I have oily skin and lots of breakouts, I use the Charcoal Clay mask. It has activated charcoal, bentonite and French green clay. It also has hyaluronic acid to promote hydration and prevent redness.
  7. To finish up, I do a few pumps of the night repair cream. I use this during the day, too, because it’s definitely light enough for that. It isn’t great at all!

When I travel, I like to do some of these things all in one, so I bring along my facial cocktail. This is a customized serum that mixes several steps in one and you get to choose all the ingredients that go in it based on your exact skin type and issues. I only need to use it once a day with the night repair cream on top.

Spiced Apple Cider from Starbucks

If you haven’t tried this yet – you NEED to. I’m OBSESSED with this. Apple Cider is my absolute favorite this time of year, and Starbucks has it down. If you are feeling extra festive – try adding chai to yours next time!

Camo sneakers from Shophopes.com

I worked with this shop for a fun fall try-on haul a couple weeks ago and fell IN. LOVE. with these sneakers. I am loving all things camo these days – and I’m also loving all things athleisure and comfortable. Cue all the leggings, crew neck sweatshirts and sneakers. These are perfect because to me, camo + leopard print are essentially both neutrals so I pair them with everything. Cute grey sweatshirt and jeans? They match. White waffle knit tee + yoga pants? They match. Neutral sweater and black denim? THEY. FREAKING. MATCH. #win.

Personalized Starbucks cup from Mia Jae

I love this cup!!! Mia Jae sent this to me a few weeks ago and I’ve been using it ever since! I love that it says “mommy fuel” on it. I don’t drink coffee, but I guarantee whatever the heck is in my cup is fueling my mommin’ for the day (see spiced apple cider above). Plus you save $.10 off your drink every time you bring your cup in. Less waste, more cute instagram photo ops.

Paula’s Choice skin-perfecting 2% BHA exfoliant

This has been a game changer for my skin lately. I’ve paired it with my Dermalogica active clearing serum + spot fader (I’ve been religiously using these two products for the last 10 weeks – you can see my progress on my IG highlights). I use it every other night underneath my serums and moisturizer. It has salicylic acid and BHA and isn’t too harsh my skin. I always wake up with less active acne and incredibly soft skin. I also feel like it’s been helping my scarring fade. HIGHLY recommend.

Super Star knit beanie baby hats

THESE. ARE. SO. STINKING. CUTE. I’m 150% obsessed. It’s starting to get chilly here so I have a hat on Jack every time we leave the house now. I needed some neutral colors and I wanted them to be thick and knit so they’d keep his little head and ears warm. I got a pack of three for only $15. They are a tiny bit big on J’s little head right now, but I know they’ll fit all throughout the winter. I’m SO surprised at how nice the quality is for being an Amazon find!

Freshly Picked backpack diaper bag

I got this as a gift before Jack was born and it’s my new fave!! I have a Lily Jade diaper bag I also love – but this one has taken the cake recently. It’s super easy to find everything, has enough pockets to fit ALL THE THINGS and it doesn’t turn into a giant pit. I like that feels high quality. The stone color is perfect because it goes with everything. It looks stylish and sleek and I don’t feel like I’m carrying a clunky bag around with Jack’s stuff. LOVE.

Lacy Coe Show Off Hoops

These hoops are AMAZING. I grabbed them at a local boutique – Lacy Coe – here in St. Louis and they’ve been on repeat all month long. They’re super light, have just enough pattern to make a statement and complete every outfit. Obsessed.

I hope you enjoyed this month’s monthly obsessions! I look forward to writing these posts every single month. It’s always so fun to look back and see what all my faves were over the last few weeks.
