YOU. GUYS. If you follow me on instagram – you know how much I loved getting my eyebrows micro bladed. I went to Inked Beauty Bar in St. Louis and saw Emily (she was even on my podcast – listen to her episode here). She is absolutely PHENOMENAL and I am beyond in love with my brows. I wanted to share some FAQs you guys sent in via IG and share a bit more about my experience. Let’s dive into this.

My Microblading Experience – Simplifying The Mom Routine!

About Inked Beauty Bar + Emily.

Emily Thomas is a permanent cosmetic tattoo artist and a licensed cosmetologist of 11 years who grew a professional hair company from the ground up – earning 6 figures and become a million dollar sales rep. She left it all to pursue her dream of being a creative business owner and started Inked Beauty Bar. Over a year later, she is on pace to surpass her previous income while working les hours so she can spend more time with her family and doing a job she loves.

About the process in the chair.

When I got to Inked Beauty Bar, Emily immediately put me at ease. We discussed the best brow shape for my face and then she took time to draw it on and make sure it was the best shape for my face. Once I gave her the OK on the shape, she numbed me up and we got to work! I was there about 2.5 hours total from start to finish. Emily was so professional and I left completely IN. LOVE. with my eyebrows.

Post-procedure care.

Emily is so great at telling you exactly what you need to do post-procedure to make sure your brows last as long as possible. She gives you a little bag with all the products you need to take care of your brows in those first 10 days and then she also sets you up for your 8 week appointment.

*please excuse my CRUSTY lips in the last picture – I had been sweating under my mask. Whoops*

FAQs.

How long does it last?

It will last about 12-18 months. It does require yearly touch ups. It’s considered a semi-permanent tattoo!

Does it hurt?

Mine did not hurt at all during the procedure! I had some mild discomfort after the numbing wore off (like a bad sunburn) for about 24 hours but that’s it! I would say the pain was extremely mild and not painful at all. Emily did an amazing job.

How long is recovery?

Recovery is 7-10 days initially. It will peel and lighten significantly during that time (which is why you need the touch up). After the touch up, it’s another a 7-10 days and then perfection for a year!

How much does it cost?

Emily’s service is $450 for the initial service and then $50 for the touch up.

I am IN. LOVE. with my brows. I’ve honestly never felt more confident and it’s shaved at least 10 minutes off of my daily routine. I used to spend so long trying to get them even and fall quite short (cousins not twins, amiright). I am not TERRIBLE at doing my own eyebrows, but why do them if they can be on my face permanently and look even and gorgeous? I got so many compliments post-procedure and I CANNOT wait until my 8 week touch up. Stay tuned for that because I will update this post with the results of the touch up once it’s done!

  1. I’ve been on the fence about microblading for like two years now. I’ve been on a journey to grow my brows out for 3 years and there’s some gaps that are just never going to grow in. The aftercare always worries me though and the yearly maintenance. I have a stylist I want to go to and everything but I just keep backing out!
