Some quick tips from Allstate on making sure you drive safely this fall:

  • Be aware of your surroundings – deer activity is at its peek and “the majority of vehicle accidents involving a deer occur from October through December”!
  • Have a crash emergency plan. Come to a complete stop on the side of the road, turn on your hazard lights and call the local police station.
  • Animals (especially deer) tend to be most active between dawn and dusk, so be most watchful around those times
  • Regularly clean and inspect your car – make sure your windshield, headlights and taillights are clean and free of debris.
