Today I am delving into the world of hair tutorials! This was highly requested on instagram — so hopefully it turns out exactly the way you hoped it would. This has been my go-to hairstyle the last two weeks. It is so easy and so fun! I did this video in two sections. The first half is the hair curling tutorial and the second half is my mohawk braid tutorial. Feel free to skip around to watch whichever part you need help with the most (or, like, watch the whole thing if you love me and whatnot). Ok so let’s jump into it.

Braided Mohawk / Beach Wave Tutorial
Product list:
Kevin Murphy Doo Over Dry Shampoo — $30
The texturizing spray of your dreams. This stuff is the bomb. I use it every time I curl my hair to give it that messy, sexy, volumized look that is everywhere this summer. I never want to look too “done” so I spray some of this in to give the appearance that I “woke up like this”.
Aussie Aussome Volume Hairspray
Guys. I know. I lost the cap like years ago. No idea where it ended up. I use this for more practical reasons. My hair has a hard time holding curl so I have to spray it with some kind of hairspray if I expect it to last longer than, like, half a second. It also adds a little bit of volume to my hair, and because I have super fine hair, that is something I really need.
TIGI Bed Head Manipulator
This is kind of like the secret ingredient to a family recipe. You could go without it..but it just isn’t the same. I use this molding paste to separate the ends of my hair to keep the curls from molding together. I use a dime sized dollop in my palm and scrunch up my hair. Voila! Perfect beach vibes.
Plugged In 1inch Curling Iron
I really like this curling iron. It is super cheap but I don’t find that it damages my hair. It is the perfect size. To make it a wand, I took off the clamp with a screw driver and use it without it! It works perfectly as a wand and makes the perfect beach waves.
So that is the braided mohawk / beach wave tutorial. It is easy and doesn’t take a million years to do! It looks WAY more complicated than it actually is so you can look like a pro.
So what did you think? Was this tutorial helpful? I hope so! Let me know in the comments what you thought and if you would like to see more. Don’t forget to follow me on instagram and twitter to see other hairstyles that I’ve done!
