HAPPY FRI-YAYYYYYY. It’s Friday, kids. Hallelujah. My cute hubby is home for his day off work, so we are going grocery shopping and probably for a bike ride. YAY FOR DAYS OFF. Today’s post is using a very popular and controversial palette in the beauty world: ABH Subculture. It got a lot of flack because it is technically a pressed pigment, NOT an eyeshadow. It’s intensely pigmented and has some fallout but it’s STUNNING so I wanted to test it out and work with it. So let’s do it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette Review + Tutorial
Pros to this palette:
It is an unusual color combination. This is the first palette in a long, long while to have these colors together with such pigmentation. It blew the beauty world’s MIND.
It’s SO PIGMENTED HOLY SHOOT. You literally need a feather light touch, which means this product will last a LONG time. Which at $42, you probably want it to last quite a while.
It’s a reputable brand. ABH constantly comes out with beautiful eyeshadow palettes. I trust the quality completely.
Cons to this palette:
This isn’t a complete palette. There aren’t enough transition shades to only own this palette and nothing else. I still reach for different inner corner highlights and brow bone highlights as well.
It’s SO PIGMENTED HOLY SHOOT. (deja vu). This is a pro AND a con. If you are not used to working with shadows like this, you will have a difficult time with it. It can be very hard to blend out, and one mistake is hard to get rid of.
I was intensely following this palette release because of all the commotion it caused — I held off on purchasing it until I decided if it would be worth it.
After using it, I have decided that YES I really do love this eyeshadow palette. It’s so unique and those mustard yellows are worth it on their own.
Wow, that really is pigmented! It looks amazing with your skin tone too!
I love this eye shadow color combo!
Gorgeous, love the yellow tone you used, you can really pull it off!
so pretty! you can pull off all the colors, I love watching your tutorials!
This came out so well, as always. Love it.
GIRL this is goooooorgeous. You look older!!!! (in the best way)
So…I know this post is about the palette but I love that lip color! So striking. Dark colors are my favorite for fall. The maroon and rose colors of the palette are nice, but I don’t know if I could pull off those bold colors!
Ohh such a pretty look!
This is such a pretty look and love the review! They have so many gorgeous colors in this one!
I guess it’s useless to say I love your make-up tutorials.
This look looks perfect for autumn, love it!
I love the eye look you came up with! I’ve heard so much about this palette, thanks for sharing your thoughts!
